Kyle Busch is this generation's Dale Earnhardt.
Tonight's race in Richmond just serves to bolster my beliefs that Kyle Busch is this generation's Dale Earnhardt. Dale Earnhardt Jr is the 'Tiger Woods' of auto racing, but at times it just seems he isn't aggresive enough or willing to do like his father and 'put someone on their roof' to win. I understand, Dale has an image to protect to ensure that Mr. Hendrick stays happy and 90% of race fans still cheer whenever he takes the lead at almost any race. On the flipside, 23 year old Busch has a lot of talent, but he will wreck people when he should just pull up and get whatever he can, he will wreck himself trying to do too much to win, and he will even wreck his brother and team mates trying to win races. It's clear he's like a wreckless Dale Earnhardt Sr. He doesn't have the maturity to protect his image, or maybe he's protecting his image as a bad boy driver. Dale Jr went through this phase early on, where he would wreck trying to do too much, and now he's mellowed out and ready to be a celebrity. As a Dale Sr fan though, you have to understand that NASCAR has never taken a win or punished someone for wrecking someone to win a race. Dale won numerous races that way and you have to wonder why doesn't anyone else figure it out...Run second near the end and wreck the leader...proven formula.
That's my rant for tonight. Now I'll just wonder, how long can Dale Jr consistently have a car that's the best on the track at some point of the race and not win.
